Each week, the students in our Youngsters: Right Brain class become world travelers, embarking on crafts and activities based around a particular country. Our campers have been to far flung locales from Italy and France to Mexico, and each has been a lot of fun. This week’s destination? China!
On Monday, campers learned about where China is on the map and had a chance to color in its flag. Then, they got a chance to put their own spin on a Chinese dragon by using paper, colored pencils, cardboard, and their own imaginations!
They followed this up by making their own colorful decorative fans and puppets that are fitting for any festive occasion. Perhaps their awesome teacher, Kenny, will have them put on a puppet show for the camp!
Today, they topped all of this off by learning about the Chinese Zodiac. They told our site director John that this is the Year of the Ox and had their own paper-crafted oxen to prove it! We’re all excited to see what the next day brings, as well as what place they’re off to next week!
