Tropical Theme Thursday has me wishing I were laying on the beach, listening to the waves crash, then realize my youngest child has no fear of the ocean and is barreling straight for a wave, me grabbing him at the last second…sorry, went on a rant there š
The campers’ tropical gear was great, Iām glad so many participated today. I had a great time walking through the classes to see campers engaged, laughing, building, and thinking. The Minecraft Crew (Four 7 year old boys) are a fun bunch to watch. Their excitement while world building is infectious and their reactions to Creepers attacking is hysterical. Even on break they talk Minecraft. Christa, their teacher this week is amazing with them deserves a lot of credit for how well she works with that room full of never ending energy.
Listening to the Murder Mystery class is a lot of fun as they are so creative in their story telling, putting the clues together, and their take on the logistics of the scenarios they read about and create.
Our Scratch Jr class has the youngest of our campers this week learning about coding, designing games, and short animations. Mary Grace, one of our Counselors stepped up into the teacher role for this class and is doing an amazing job. I thoroughly enjoy listening to the kids tell me about their games, why they chose the theme they did, and then making fun of me for not being able to win when I try them out.
We also had a competition in the 3D Design class in which the campers created models of the 7 Wonders of the World. Myself, Evan our AM Counselor, Mary the Comic Creation Teacher, and her campers were the judges. There will be pictures of those in tomorrow’s blog as they are all still being printed as we speak.Ā
