Chatham is Jam Packed with Great Classes: Chatham Week 4
Good evening International Ivy Parents and Guardians! Today as I was visiting all the classes, I realized that I couldn’t write a blog about just one class today but I wanted to give an update on all the classes. We are learning so much this week and having a blast!
In the morning, our Youngsters learned how to Samba as they continued their study on Brazil! We twirled around and made great crafts as we learned about the rainforest as well. In Mock Trial we debriefed on our criminal case research from yesterday and went into Chief Justice’s today in preparation for their trial on Friday. Two of our camper’s presented for videos. Comic creation saw more amazing stories as they learned how to use different features and backgrounds within the Pixton program. In Shark Tank we are in the development of presentations from our pitches on Friday! Lastly, in Role Playing Games we had camper’s demo our games for the counselors. Their is a great video of camper describing his game on the You Tube.
As we tried to beat the heat and the rain this morning we played Mafia, led by Christa and made bracelets at break time with Elizabeth.
When the afternoon rolled around we were ready for more fun and learning! In We Do robotics, our young campers created cars, helicopters, and even a frog. In Debate and Public Speaking we presented preliminary debates on Swimming and Video Games and Exercise. Tomorrow we will start with constructive feedback on those debates and moving forward to out next topic. Our Minecraft class was in full force today working together and creating villages. In Ice Cream we worked on creating a Jingle for our new businesses using software that not only generates sound but also colors! Finally, in Video Game Creation class, we have two students making some really great games. One is themed after Five Nights at Freddy’s and the other camper is using really detailed pictures to create background for his game that make it look like a professional.
Thankfully, the sun came out for afternoon break! We were able to go outside on the playground, participate in Spot it, or make bracelets with Caitlin. We hope tomorrow’s Halloween day will be just as fun!
