After a year-long virtual hiatus, International Ivy is back in action at Short Hills! The Pingry Lower School campus was abuzz Monday with campers excited to get back into the swing of things through in-person camp. Under those masks are faces (both new and from years past) all looking forward to a great summer!
There are plenty of new things going on Ivy this year, and we don’t just mean Pingry’s testing protocols! John and Nick, our new site director and assistant site directors, are leading the way into this summer with a brand new team of counselors and a host of Covid-safe games and activities to entertain our campers. Not even the summer heat can stop the fun!
We also have some new classes available as well, including Science for Future Physicians, developed and run by our fabulous science teacher Doreen. Throughout the week, students will dive into topics from cardiology to orthopedics as a way of exploring the world of medicine. There’s no need to be intimidated by these subjects (our bright cohort of campers certainly aren’t!) as they are grounded in fun activities such as designing robotic hands out of cardboard.
Of course, not all of what we have this year is new: all of your favorite classes from Canvas Painting to Minecraft Creative: The Engineer in You are running this week as well, and our staff is full of familiar faces eager to work with a new batch of campers. Keep your eyes here on our blog for weekly updates throughout the summer — we’ve got a great year ahead of us! See you at camp!
