Princeton Week 8: Structures, Stocks & Scratch!
Here are a few updates on our week 8 PM classes-
Civil Engineering: Today in the Civil Engineering Class, the campers started constructing their own building structures using a variety of materials that they had to “purchase” using a budget. This prompted them to make the most informed decisions possible to get the most efficient resources. To make these purchases, students had to use math and engineering skills in order to make the best choices. Later in the week the class will test if these structures can withstand an earthquake!
Scratch Junior: Our Youngsters have been busy in scratch junior making story scenes. The campers have to come up with a plot, choose backgrounds and characters, and code those figures to move according to their story. The app using a drag and drop interface to introduce and familiarize students with basic coding principles. Overall, these youngsters are having so much fun using their creativity and imagination through technology.
Investment Literacy: This week, our future investment bankers have been busy learning the basic principles of the stock market and trading. Every day they have a mini-lesson on a different aspect of investment literacy and finance. For the remainder of class, they play the stock market game.
