Full Steam Ahead: Chatham Week 6
This week Chatham is running 19 classes! 4 of these classes are running for the first time this summer. First up, we have Raspberry Pi. Not cherry or apple! Raspberry! For those of you who don’t know, Raspberry Pi is like a mini computer. The campers are working hard to program the mother boards and learn new coding tricks. We also have App Design using App Inventor. This class is done on both laptops and tablets, which work together in order to create cool games. Youngsters: Scratch Jr is also running for the first time this summer with Arielle. The little guys and gals created different backgrounds today such as space and the jungle to program the Scratch Cat and other animals. Finally, we have our Wee Steamers class for the first time this summer. The theme this week is: insects! Ewwww but not when Ms. Aimee is teaching it. Our young campers hunted for insects around the room (Yes, they were fake!) and learned about the different parts of the animals. As always, we had so much fun with our new and returning campers. As the camp season starts winding down, here in Chatham we are full “steam” ahead!
