Chatham Dances Their Way Through Week 5
This Week at Chatham has been jam-packed with tech, tunes, tactics and treats! Our best creators have been working hard in lego robotics, making things from a trap for the smallest mouse all the way up to the mighty snake. Speaking of snakes, our Python class spent the week learning the ins and outs to program their very own text based adventures. The game design crew made games for themselves and their fellow classmates, letting Aerospace come in for an afternoon brain break and experience their platformers, mazes, and more! Chess and Game Theory spent the week learning new strategies and avenues to victory, whether they were working together to try and beat a shadowy hacking organization or learning new checkmates. Winning or losing, everyone had a blast! Our kids especially loved the addition of music to some of their drop offs with many deciding to stay outdoors longer just to have a dance party with their site director Nicole and head counselor Alison! Our new food scientists in IceCream treated themselves and their counselors to some delicious ice cream and other sweet recipes. While in the sewing room, mixed media, and You Tube classes brand new creations were crafted. Our youngsters stretched their physical and creative muscles with daily yoga as well as art projects , while down the hall minds were hard at work looking for and designing clues in Escape Room. Upstairs, Minecraft and Discovery Workshop spent the week exploring and learning new things like world editing and how pipelines do their job. As our week came to a close, the kids worked together to go toe to toe in a counselors vs campers game of capture the chicken which ended in a 2-2 tie. We look forward to a rematch in the coming weeks!
